On 8/31/16 at approx 1600 hrs members of the Warwick Police Department were dispatched to the Potowomut Road area of Warwick regarding a suspicious situation. A juvenile female was walking home after the bus had dropped her off and alleged that a male, operating an older “beat up” Red Toyota pick-up truck with the word Toyota on the front grill, had slowed and asked the female if she needed a ride home. No description could be provided of the operator.
The Warwick Police Department has investigated this incident and has determined that although it is indeed suspicious, no attempted abduction or enticement occurred.
