The Warwick Police Department was established in 1921.  Prior to that the villages of Warwick were policed by constables and sheriffs since 1648.  The department currently has 172 sworn police officers supported by 53 civilian employees that provide municipal policing services to a residential population of 81,000.

Additional Suspects Charged in the Michael Rogers Murder/David Rogers Assault


On 3/26/2016, the Warwick Police responded to 149 Haswill Street for the report of a stabbing. As a result of a preliminary investigation, Jared Rogers, DOB 7/11/1995, of that address was arrested and charged with the murder of his nephew, Michael Rogers, and an assault with a dangerous weapon on his brother, David Rogers.


As the department continued to vigorously investigate the murder, information was received that other people were allegedly involved in the event. Three males were sought as potential witnesses to the murder. Ultimately, through the investigation, it was discovered that these subjects were directly involved in the murder/assault with a dangerous weapon, to varying degrees. They are alleged to have acted in concert with Jared Rogers.


These subjects are identified as follows:


John Ingram, DOB 4/24/1997, from Cranston
Josue Morillo, DOB 3/8/1997, from Providence
Andrew Soben, DOB 3/12/1997, from West Warwick


All three of these subjects are being charged by Warwick Police with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. They will be arraigned at Kent County Courthouse on Wednesday 3/30/2016 and 12:00 noon.


Additionally, the following subject, who is currently held at the ACI on unrelated issue, is alleged to have also assisted in the murder/assault with a dangerous weapon:


Jake Cabral, DOB 3/2/1997, from Warwick.

A charge of conspiracy to commit murder is pending against him.


This matter is still under active investigation. As such, no further information will be released to the media at this time.
