Invites you to attend the

30th Citizen’s Police Academy


March 15th to May 31st, 2018

Will meet on Thursdays 6:00pm – 9pm* @ Warwick Police HQ’s

2 weekend Meetings (off Site) in addition

The Citizens Police Academy is a free 12 week course


The course runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for 12 consecutive Thursdays


The Academy provides a hands-on training program in a friendly atmosphere.

Topics include:  Station tour, Patrol Operations, Use of Force, Legal Proceedings, DUI's and Drug Crimes, Accident Investigation, Evidence Processing, Arson Investigations, Mental Health, SWAT Demonstration, Basic Firearms, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Sex Offenses  and Sex Offender Regulations, K-9 Demonstration, Explosive Ordincane Disposal, and Active Shooter Threats .


The course is open to all Warwick area residents, Warwick business employees and city employees.


The course is run by the Police Department and closely follows the actual hands-on training Police officers undergo. All instructors in this program are Warwick Police Department employees. Our goal is to build a closer bond with our resident and business community. Once you have taken this course, you will have a different outlook on our services and the Warwick Police!



Requirements for Participants include:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Have no criminal history other than minor traffic violations (background checks will be performed)

Sign any liability waiver or agreements


Class size is limited to 30 participants
